Worldview and Religion

As a Missionary understanding the subject of Religion and Worldview is critical to effective service.

We can never truly separate a persons worldview and their religion. Religions are complex, and any attempt at defining them necessarily falls short. A worldview is for most people an “unknown reality”. Worldview and religion are associated with a wide variety of different cultural phenomena.

A worldview is the fundamental orientation of an individual or society, it directs the whole of knowledge and “point of view” A religion is very often simply a “garment of clothing” in which a worldview finds expression.

Even though they both exert great influence on the thinking, actions, feelings, and behavior of all humans they are hard to actually define and elements can almost never can be fully understood from a distance.

Changing a religious allegiance can be done in a moment, changing a worldview can take years!
